Belgiorno Bliss

We had SUCH a great time with our good friends Mike, Laura and their twin girls Isabella and Gianna during their first visit to Maine. They were only here for 4 full days, but we tried to keep busy (but c'mon, with 2 year old twins -they'll keep you busy!!)

Thanks for a wonderful visit! Too many wonderful photos to fit on the blog - so check 'em out on our web album - the link is on the side bar, on the right of this blog.

This photo here is of Mel, Brian, and Isabella at the base of Portland Head Light Lighthouse.

Keys, Please?

When they handed us this ring of keys after signing that big stack of papers - I thought they gave us the keys to the neighborhood!! With that many keys - I'm sure there are more floating around out there, so Brian changed all the locks our first weekend. It's nicer to have a lighter keychain too!

A toast to global connectivity!

Horray for the internet! We are finally hooked up! More frequent (if only slightly) blog posts to come!

We're Home!!!!

It's official!! We're Home!! The families were wonderful in helping us clean and move ALL our stuff into the house this past weekend. We still have plenty of unpacking to do, but we're making progress. Check out the link to our web album for more pictures of this weekend and the house!! http://picasaweb.google.com/MelissaAlexander1/HomeSweetHome

Randomness..... but exciting because all our stuff was coming out of storage!! Horray!

A house is made of walls and beams...

....a home is built with love and dreams.-- Unknown

"Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,/Be it ever so humble there's no place like home!"-- John Howard Payne (1791-1852)

This Friday at 10am Brian and I will be sitting down in front of a nice stack of paperwork waiting for our signatures.... and then this house will be ours (provided there are no hitches)!!! Woo Hooooo! We'll be sure to post more beautiful pictures (pretty much of bare walls and empty rooms) when we get a chance! But they will be our bare walls and empty rooms!! We've recruited the familes for a full weekend of cleaning and moving, so we hope to have a nice chunk of the work done by Sunday night.... if we can convince them that a little pizza is payment enough for 2 fulls days of unpaid physical labor! We can hardly wait the 5 days until we get to call it ours and move in! If you want to swing by and help, or just take a peek around, give us a call on our cell and we'll give you directions - we'll be at the house pretty much all next weekend.
