EggBlog

Another reason to love Christmas time.... chilled, fresh, local eggnog.... Mmmmm. For whatever reason, this eggnog tastes like the best 'nog ever! (Until next year when we've forgotten what it tastes like and we're smitten with eggnog-love all over again)

Here comes the snow!

Here's a little peek at our weekend snowstorm in-progress. Started at 8am this morning, turning to rain/sleet sometime this afternoon and then back to snow tonight into the morning hours of Monday.... with a foot of snow on the way today, it looks like we'll be staying in for the rest of this weekend! I just took these videos around 10am... so there's only a few inches here...

Trimming the Tree

Just a few pictures of our tree.... we got and decorated our Maine-grown tree about 2 weeks ago, just haven't gotten around to taking pictures of it all decorated! It looked a lot smaller when we bought it - but looks quite full in our living room corner!
We got hit by a nice mini storm tonight. The weatherman had forcasted a dusting to an inch of snow... but when we went out to Brian's work dinner gig it was nasty on the roads! And they're predicting a doozie of a storm this Sunday into Monday... it's hard to believe it's only mid December!


11 days til Christmas!!

Jingle Bells

Brian signed us up for a two hour slot ringing the bells for Salvation Army at our grocery store this Saturday. Luckily we got a beautiful sunny morning in the high 30s, so the time flew by. Brian volunteered last year, but this was Mel's first time. It was nice to see the generosity of our neighbors. And Brian's family came to visit us while we were there - so we had help ringing the bells :)

First Snow

So here's a look at our first 8-12 inches or so of snow. I don't know what the final total was, they kept changing their mind as to how much we'd get. All I know if that it snowed for over 24 hours, and Brian and I both were broken in to shoveling our own driveway real quickly! Hee hee. Luckily it was a light fluffy snow and not an ice storm (Connecticut) or a heavy storm with high winds (Washington/Oregon). No complaints here! These photos are from the morning it started - a few hours in ... hard to see anything but white!

One last look...

...before WINTER arrives!!! Tomorrow morning brings a predicted 6-8 inches of snow for us... Good thing I bought two snow shovels yesterday! We're going to need it.

Just a few photos of the good times with the whole family while Michelle was home for a few days on break. Bootsie may be getting old, but she's still got a few tricks! (And she's well rewarded when she does one!!)
It's a tradition now... when there's photos to be taken of Michelle and I on a "goodbye" day... you gotta be silly and you've got to holding each other up..... don't know how it started, but there you have it!
