Remembering Leo

Mel's grandparents lost their little pomeranian dog "Leo" last weekend - he was having kidney problems. We'll all miss you Leo... your funny little lion haircut that Meme and Papa would give you, the young women Papa would get to chat with on the beach in Florida because of you, the little "woof" we'd get as you hurried out from under the front steps to greet us as we walked down the driveway. Always looking for the neighborhood cats (even though you knew better than to get too close), ready to dig into freshly fallen snow and Meme would practically have to beg you to come in - you just loved Maine winters, and your little hops (big for you) as you'd get excited.
We miss you already Leo. Thanks for 10 good years.

Surprise visit from the Smiths

Sooo, our friends Tyler and Kristen were in Maine last week visiting family and they were nice enough to squeeze us in for a visit between all their traveling! They brought their super sweet dog Poppy all the way from Washington state, too! We were so happy to meet her. We just hung out, grabbed some ice cream, and took this picture - oh wait! We FORGOT to take a picture.... so here we are, all having fun in front of the ice cream stand and Ron John's (back alley) dance studio -which we had some theories about ;) Thanks for the visit! Hoping that move east is sooner rather than later!

Four Times the Dessert!

Happy Birthday to Dad and Meme! And don't ask how it happened, but celebrating two birthdays together somehow required four times the desserts (two cakes, lemon meringue pie, and perfectly fudgey brownies) and 3 choices of ice cream! Now that's my kind of party!!
Shelly and 1 yr old Belle (who, if given a cell phone, tries to push the buttons and says "text".... I don't even know how to text someone using my cell phone!!)

Remember our friend Mr. Peepers the squirrel? Well, we told you how he was burying seeds from the birdfeeder by our front steps..... one of those seeds grew into this beautiful sunflower! So the next time you get the urge to spook your squirrels away from your birdfeeder... just remember that there are a few furry creatures that are just trying to make this world a more beautiful place.... :) Thanks Mr. Peepers - we love our sunflower (even if it did mean Brian had to mow around it all summer :D)!!

Happily Ever After...

Went to (Brian's cousin) Kelley's and Bobby's wedding this weekend. Despite the intermittent rain, it was a beautiful, outdoor, coastal wedding. Best Wishes Kelley and Bobby!!
