Brian's First Big Project for the House - Complete!

So Brian finished his mystery project.... (drumroll please)

Ta Da!
Check out our beautiful laundry/clothes-folding table that Brian made. It's in our basement in the laundry room (or what will be the laundry room once we get a washer and dryer... yeah yeah, we gotta work on that). Brian put his nifty workshop tools to work on this first big project for the house. And it looks great (if I may say so myself)!

Now about that washer and dryer...

Getting Knitty With It.. Na Na Na Na Na Na Na

Ok, so Mel is alllllmost done with her knitting project. Yes, it may look done, but its not quite finished yet. You can probably tell what it is now (despite my attempts of making it look like a VERY stylish berret). So what's left to do? Felting! And since this is my first felting project, I'm keeping my fingers crossed (because normally your nice woolen goods and your washing machine should never even be left in the same room together!) But that's what must be done :)-to shrink it a bit and give it a little structure.... I'll post pics of the finished project when its nice and felted.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow (or the story of how Brian shaved his winter beard)

With the begining of Spring (well, according to the calendar) Brian said goodbye to the winter beard... but not without a little fun! Of the various versions Brian tried out while shaving it all off, he had the "Abe Lincoln" and the "American Idol Reject Rocker." Good thing the in-between beards didn't last more than a few minutes!!!

How to Take a Family Easter Portrait

Round up the kids and have them stand together (and giggle about sibling things while Mom gets the camera ready) Ok, now everybody stand together...
Oh wait... we've got issues.... gotta break up the boysOk now, smile... CLICK!

Got it!

Rain Day Projects

Brian and I are both starting some projects... but we'll wait until they're finished to show you what we're making....Here's a sneak peek:

Something in the Water?

Went to a scrapbooking get-together with Stacy, Sue, and two other women (who I met there) last night. This moring Stacy and I finished the pages we started last night. Who knows why, but we both worked on ocean/water themes.....Hmmm, maybe there is something in our water?

I liked this quote (on the page below): "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life - Richard Bach" - Isn't that really what it's all about!

And I'll just sneak this one in here.... did this last weekend.

The Week in Review

This week in Review.... Pop's Birthday! Horray! And in celebration of Joe's birthday, we thought we'd make it official... "We're on Joe's Team."
And Shelly came home for break, so we celebrated her birthday early with the grandparents and cousins. And there's the culprit there in Shelly's lap - at least that's who we're blaming for spreading the flu bug to everyone... she just looks too innocent to give half the gang the flu!!
And yes... more snow pictures... what can we say?! We can't help ourselves!

And here's what our Snowhawk snowman looked like the day after we made him (due to a little rain). I am sorry to say that his condition turned very grave the following day... perhaps he needed to be more "headstrong?"
