We met Mr. Peepers last week when he found our bird feeder. To our surprise he didn't have much of an interest (yet) in jumping up to the bird feeder and choosing his own meal. He was quite content to rummage through the leftovers on the ground. While we watched him eat and bury his findings, we decided his name must be Mr. Peepers because of his funny exagerated antics when he eats (like the SNL skit). He looked up at us in the window a few times, but didn't mind us watching him either.
And then we came up onto our steps and flattened out on his belly, presumably to cool off (our steps were in the shade). Although the second picture makes him look a little nervous, he was very relaxed and hung around for quite a while. Maybe we are too easiliy amused, but we enjoyed our first meeting with Mr. Peepers.
...now how do we make sure he doesn't get any more ideas about the birdfeeder? :)

Mr. Peepers is soooooo much cuter than the SNL Mr. Peepers, but I do love that he was named after him!
It's so nice that you get to see so much nature up there. Please keep us posted on Mr. Peepers doings!
They make squirrel shades that go on your bird feeder, or you can buy a feeder that is squirrel proof. Trust me...I have 4-5 squirrel problems at my house!!!! Cute, but damaging to feeders!
